Company Overview
When choosing an attorney, you have many options and it is vitally important that you know exactly what you’re getting with each. At the Law Office of Ben Winters, I treat every case as if it is the only case. I am not a “full service” lawyer who will draft your will one day and represent you in a divorce the next. Instead, I focus on what I know best….accident/injury law and criminal defense. Regardless of whether a case settles out of court or proceeds to trial, I will handle your case from beginning to end with the diligence and aggressiveness that you should expect from your lawyer.
About Benjamin Winters
A native of middle Tennessee, Ben attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. Having always had an interest in the law, Ben left what was becoming a very successful career in sales & marketing to attend law school and pursue his passion.
At the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, Ben quickly realized the allure of the courtroom and his overwhelming interest in trial work. Ben was selected as a member of DU’s nationally recognized mock trial team and competed in various invitation-only trial competitions across the country, including the National Civil Trial Competition sponsored by Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA, where DU’s team took the title while Ben was unanimously named “Best Advocate”.
Upon graduating, Ben returned to his roots in Nashville and began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for Davidson County. Rising quickly, Ben was soon thereafter named as one of three prosecutors assigned to Davidson County’s Vehicular Crimes Unit where he was responsible for the prosecution of all vehicular related crimes including DUI, vehicular assault and vehicular homicide. From the vehicular crimes unit, Ben was then assigned to Davidson County Criminal Court, Division III, where he honed his trial skills and passion for the courtroom. It was here where Ben gained the invaluable trial experience which enabled him to start his own practice.
For over a decade now, Ben has focused his practice on the representation of plaintiffs in civil cases, including personal injury, premise liability (slip and fall) and civil rights violations as well as criminal defense. Ben’s love of the law is matched only by his dedication to his clients and making certain that they receive the best results possible.
